Ekwerike Chukwuma

#thewumanbrand

We are all affected and sensitive to the current socio, economic, sanitary situation. As an individual, an artist, a man, Chukwuma is concerned about his close community in Shomolu LGA in Lagos. Based on his personal motivation, he wishes to feed around 100 families. How?
Not only Chukwuma is a fashion designer but though his art he thinks he can touch lives through fundraising.

Chukwuma contacted Be Real team and presented his project. We have decided to support him and to share his plan with our friends:

“ I will be working with grass-root stakeholders in this community with the assistance of security operatives to feed 100 families or more safely and with civility. We will focus on women/children primarily who are the backbones of most families and men. I am looking at the provision of foodstuffs such as rice bags, noodles, beans, tomato paste, bags of water, and minor ingredients.  I am inspired to do this in order to help alleviate the suffering of some Nigerians. Social distancing in Nigeria happens to be a privilege for a few who have access to basic social amenities with a large number of people lacking severely. “

This piece depicts the results of man’s futile struggles on earth. The image of the cranial skeleton in this work is a representation of futility and weariness which is a product of man’s unending battle with the insatiable destiny of human desires.
